Privacy Policy

Legal Services Austria (“LSA”) is committed to the protection of your personal data.  For the purposes of this Policy, “LSA” or “we” refers to Dr. Gregor Grubhofer, LL.M., attorney at law admitted to the Austrian bar.  This Privacy Policy sets out the basis on which we collect and use personal data about you as part of our activities. This Privacy Policy describes in detail who is responsible for the personal data that we collect about you, how we will use such personal data, how long we will use your personal data and your rights in relation to your personal data. In this Privacy Policy we use the words “personal data”  to describe information that is about you that may identify you depending on the type of data (e.g. name, address, e-mail address, telephone number, date of birth).

1 Who is responsible for the personal data that we collect and how can I contact the data protection officer?

For the purpose of data protection law, Dr. Gregor Grubhofer, LL.M., attorney at law,  is the data controller and data protection officer in respect of the personal data that we collect and use as part of our activities. 2 What is the purpose and legal basis of our data collection and processing?

We may collect and process your personal data when you submit an Author Submission Form provided on this Website or send an e-mail to LSA or otherwise use this website:

2.1 Proposing a Contribution

If you have submitted a proposal of your contribution to be published on our Austrian Law Blog website, we process your data for the purpose of identifying your authorship and, if your contribution is published, we will make your contribution, a photo and a description of you as the author of your contribution available on our website. The legal basis for the processing is the consent given by you (Art 6 (1.)(a) GDPR), the necessary processing for the performance of a contract and/or in order to take steps at your request (Art 6 (1.)(b) GDPR), to protect your vital interest in being named as the author of your contribution (Art 6 (1.)(d) GDPR) and/or the necessary compliance with legal obligations to which the data controller is subject (Art 6 (1.)(c) GDPR).

2.2 Seeking Legal Advice

If you should send us an e-mail or a request for legal services we will ask for and process your data in order to take steps at your request and/or to the extent required to perform our legal services (Art 6 (1.)(b) GDPR). The processing of your personal data may also be necessary for compliance with legal obligations to which the data controller is subject (Art 6 (1.)(c) GDPR).

3 How long do we keep your data in general?

We keep your data only as long as this is required for the above-mentioned purposes and to comply with our contractual and/or legal obligations. Communication data will be processed until your inquiry is completed or as long as (pre-)contractual obligations apply. For the storage period of cookies please refer to the cookie section of this privacy notice. You may also delete cookies in your browser settings at any time.

4 Your Rights

Limited by the scope of the statutory provisions concerning the protection of personal date you have the following rights: The right to request from the controller access (Art 15 GDPR) to and rectification (Art 16 GDPR) or erasure (Art 17 GDPR) of personal data or restriction of processing (Art 18 GDPR) concerning the data subject or to object to processing (Art 21 GPPR) as well as the right to data portability (Art 20 GDPR).
